FAQ.

Can the sauna be placed indoors?

Yes! The sauna can be placed inside/outside as long as the space is covered.

How hot does the Sauna get?
The sauna can heat up to 180°F – 200°F and beyond with proper preheat time.
How long does it take for the sauna to pre-heat?

The Sauna typically takes 60-90 min to preheat to 180-200 and 90-120 min to preheat to 220 (degrees Fahrenheit) depending on the temperature of the space.

Can the sauna be cleaned?

Yes! We recommend a mild, natural soap and water wipe down. It does get sweaty but the MCT oil finish makes it much easier to clean. We recommend putting a towel down to sit on and catch the sweat.

Is it safe?

Yes! The heater is wired to meet standard household safety ratings and is tested extensively before it is shipped.

Can the infrared bulbs be replaced?

Yes! That’s one of the best parts about this heater. If a bulb goes out we can send you a new one or you can replace it yourself!

How can I regulate the temperature?

We designed this sauna around the KISS principal (keep it simple stupid) to ensure robustness. If you’re looking to ease into heat therapy you can work your way up one bulb at a time. If at any point the heat is too extreme, you can simply slide the door partially open to release heat or slide the door completely open to get a fresh reset.

Can I use my Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) funds to purchase a sauna?

Yes, you can use HSA or FSA funds to purchase a sauna under certain conditions. It’s important to ensure that your purchase is for medical purposes. Here’s what you need to know:

  1. Medical Necessity: The sauna must be deemed medically necessary for treating a specific health condition diagnosed by a healthcare professional. Qualifying conditions often include chronic pain conditions (such as arthritis or fibromyalgia), specific skin conditions (like psoriasis), muscle or joint issues, certain respiratory conditions, detoxification for medical purposes, and some stress-related conditions.

  2. Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN): An LMN from a healthcare provider is required. This letter should outline your specific medical condition and explain how the sauna aids in its treatment or alleviation.

  3. Compliance with IRS Rules: IRS rules on HSA and FSA expenditures are strict, focusing on expenses primarily for the prevention or alleviation of a physical or mental defect or illness. Check with your HSA/FSA administrator or a tax professional to ensure your purchase is compliant.

  4. Partnership with TrueMed: We’ve partnered with TrueMed. After successfully completing a purchase of a sauna, TrueMed will guide you through a questionnaire and provide guidance on submitting your claim to your HSA/FSA program administrator for reimbursement.

  5. Documentation: Keep all relevant documentation, including the LMN and purchase receipts, as you may need to substantiate the expense for tax purposes.

Please consult with your healthcare provider and financial advisor to ensure compliance with all necessary requirements, as each individual’s health situation and HSA/FSA guidelines can vary.

What makes it a Hybrid?
Our infrared heater offers a trifecta of benefits!

  1. Infrared, incandescent bulbs create a spectrum that penetrates down to the bone and joints.

  2. The heater works in tandem with the structure to create traditional sauna temperatures (180-220)

  3. Red light therapy promotes cellular regeneration by stimulating the mitochondria
What are the optimal temperatures necessary to induce heat shock proteins?

174°F – 212°F X 20-30 min 4-7 times per week.

How much does it cost to run?

The average cost of electricity in the United States is around $0.13 per kilowatt-hour. Running 1000 watts for 2 hours would be equivalent to 2 kilowatt-hours. Therefore, the cost would be approximately $0.26 for running a 1000-watt device for 2 hours in an American household.

What type of bulbs are included in the sauna, and what is their nanometer range?

Red incandescent heat lamp bulbs typically emit light in the wavelength range of around 600 to 700 nanometers (nm). This range falls within the visible red light spectrum, with some emission extending into the near-infrared region, which is just beyond the visible spectrum. We have worked with a variety of bulb manufactures and have found the best results from Fiet, Ruby Lux and Industrial Performance. The specific peak wavelength can vary depending on the manufacturer but all within the proper range to induce regenerative cellular results. We are currently in the process of making our own bulbs, although this will take some time. The beauty of our heat system is that when we lock down the perfect therapy bulb, we will be able to offer replacements to all of our customers. Our design currently offers customers to choose the brand of bulbs they would like if they prefer another brand over the ones that are included.
